Work Experience
From June 15th to 26th two year 10 students, Natalie (Keilor Downs College) and Giulia (Essendon Keilor College) were given the opportunity to complete their two weeks work experience at Taylors Lakes Primary School in the music department.
As part of their experience, the two students joined Miss Caroline Le Sueur in performing the song “Karma Police” by Radiohead for the primary school students, as shown in the video. Giulia (to the left) plays the acoustic guitar, Natalie (centre) is on vocals and Caroline Le Sueur (to the right) is playing the Djembe and backing vocals.
The two work experience students also assist Caroline Le Sueur around the classroom with all classroom activities.
My two weeks work experience in the music department at Taylors Lakes Primary School has been one of which i will always remember. Music has always played a massive role in my life, so to share this passion with the students at Taylor’s Lakes Primary School is truly amazing. It’s such an uplifting feeling to pass the knowledge i have learnt in music over to the students, one of which i can’t explain. I have been truly amazed by some of the talent that this school holds, witnessing the Samba Ensemble, Year 3/4 Choir and the Xylophone Ensemble. Being a student myself, having the opportunity to enter the staff room was like a “behind the scenes” experience, as i witnessed the hard work the teachers go through that the students don’t see! I’m eternally grateful to both the staff and students at Taylor’s Lakes Primary School for being so kind and welcoming towards me from the start. – Natalie (Student at Keilor Downs College)
